Organic cotton Made in Sicily

We support the production of the first organic cotton Made in Sicily by collaborating with specialized producers in cultivation and processing of cotton.

Realization of the 9th photovoltaic plant

In 2021 we installed our 9th photovoltaic plant. Now we self-produce 38% of our energy needs.

Eligibility for MRLS of ZDHC

Since 2019 the dyeing process and finishing of fabrics is eligible for the MRLS (Manufacturing Restricted Substance) of ZDHC which restricts the use of a series of chemicals products harmful to the environment and the user.

Recover of heat during the production processes

Sosteniamo la produzione del primo cotone organico Made in Sicily collaborando con produttori specializzati nella coltivazione, lavorazione e trasformazione del cotone.
Nel 2021 abbiamo installato il nostro nono impianto fotovoltaico grazie al quale ora autoproduciamo il 38% del nostro fabbisogno energetico.
Dal 2019 il processo di tintura e nobilitazione del tessuto è idoneo all’MRLS (Manifacturing Restricted Substance ) di ZDHC che limita l’utilizzo di una serie di prodotti chimici dannosi per ambiente e per il cliente e l’utilizzatore.
Garantiamo uno sviluppo responsabile e sostenibile nella lavorazione delle fibre naturali, mantenendo la tracciabilità del prodotto lungo l’intero processo produttivo, con un grande focus sui prodotti chimici ed il rispetto di criteri ambientali e sociali.
Collaboriamo con istituti tecnici e professionali del territorio con attività formative in azienda e di alternanza scuola lavoro ogni anno.

I tessuti nobilitati dalla Varano Borghi 1813 sono certificati OEKO-TEX Standard 100. Vogliamo creare un prodotto che rispetti i più stringenti requisiti di qualità e allo stesso tempo sostenibilità.
Abbiamo realizzato un’impianto turbogas per la cogenerazione di vapore e gas.
Reintegriamo nel processo industriale il calore residuo dell’acqua di scarto di preparazione e finissaggio tramite scambiatori di calore; recuperiamo il calore da gas di combustione di caldaie.
Assicuriamo il controllo di sostanze pericolose nei tessuti, tutelando la sicurezza e la salute dei consumatori, rafforzando i requisiti di sicurezza relative all’abbigliamento e ai tessuti decorativi destinati al mercato cinese.

Rispetto agli ultimi 3 anni, abbiamo ridotto i consumi d’energia provenienti da combustibili fossili quantificati per il 13% sul totale dei Kg lavorati.
Combattiamo gli impatti negativi della coltivazione e lavorazione del cotone, quali lavoro minorile, lavoro forzato e utilizzo di sostanze nocive per l’uomo e l’ambiente.
Nel 2019 è stata completata la costruzione di una centrale idroelettrica in grado di generare circa un milione di Kw/Ora all’anno.
Negli ultimi 7 anni, abbiamo stimato una riduzione del consumo di acqua del 52%(2021 vs 2015) grazie al ricircolo e all’ottimizzazione delle lavorazioni.
Nel 2020 è stata avviatala produzione di Cotone Supima Organico grazie al coinvolgimento diretto di agricoltori della California.

Abbiamo ridotto i rifiuti generati del 16% su Kg venduto tra il 2019 e il 2021.
Tutti i nostri prodotti rispettano il regolamento europeo REACH per la riduzione delle sostanze chimiche pericolose.
Sosteniamo i valori del vivere civile testimoniati dal patrimonio culturale promosso dal FAI durante le giornata di Primavera.
Dedichiamo parte del nostro tempo alla ricerca e sviluppo di nuove tecniche tintoriali del nostro processo.
Utilizziamo il 100% di cartone riciclato e utilizziamo il 37% di plastiche rigenerate per i nostri packaging.
Attività volta a recuperare e valorizzare tutti gli scarti di produzione. Ogni scarto tessile, sia di filato che di tessuto, viene conservato e riservato per aziende che operano nell’ambito dell’economia sostenibile.
Grazie all’introduzione di macchine di nuova generazione per il finissaggio dei tessuti e il revamping di macchinari passando da corrente continua a motori a corrente alternata e l’utilizzo d’inverter.
Rispetto agli ultimi 3 anni, abbiamo ridotto i consumi d’energia elettrica degli impianti operativi quantificati per il 44% sul totale dei Kg lavorati.
